Pre cum happens when a man is sexually excited. The fluid is clear and appears on the head of the penis from the urethra, which is the reason that people sometimes refer to the penis in this state as a “leaky faucet.” Pre cum can get you pregnant, despite what you might have heard.
Pre cum is not semen, so it’s difficult to become pregnant from pre cum alone, but it’s not impossible to become pregnant from pre cum. Here’s how and why:
Side note: If you are currently struggling to orgasm during sex or masturbation, then you may want to learn about the Easy Orgasm Solution. It will teach you how to have multiple vaginal and full body orgasms during sex and masturbation. It works even if you currently struggle to orgasm during sex or when masturbating. You can find out more here.
How and Why
Pre cum is not semen that leaks from the penis before ejaculation occurs. The Cowper’s glands produce pre cum, whereas small tubular glands (called the seminal vesicles), the prostate and the testicles produce semen.
The purpose of pre cum is to flush out the penis before a man ejaculates.
Because pre cum is not semen, you can’t become pregnant from this substance alone unless there is some sperm in it, which can happen. Because pre cum’s purpose is to flush out the penis, it can flush out any semen left in the penis from the last time a man ejaculated. That’s how you can become pregnant.
If a man urinated after his last ejaculation, the urine serves to flush out the penis and to kill leftover sperm. You probably would not get pregnant if that happened, but there are no guarantees. To be on the safe side, you should always assume that you can get pregnant from an erect penis, meaning you should take proper precautions. Learn how to use a condom.

Just like you might have heard the myth that you can’t get pregnant while you have your period — you absolutely can! — you may have heard that pre cum can’t get you pregnant. Here are some myths and truths that answer the question can pre cum get you pregnant:
Myth: Pre cum is semen that has leaked out before a man ejaculates.
Truth: Pre cum is a different substance from ejaculate, but it still might contain sperm.
Myth: All men produce the same amount of pre cum.
Truth: The amount of pre cum produced varies with each man. Some men produce none, some produce a drop or two, and some produce a lot of fluid, up to 1 1/2 ounces.
Myth: Men can control whether they have pre cum.
Truth: Men have no control over whether they have pre cum or the amount of pre cum they have.
Myth: Pre cum is the same color as ejaculate.
Truth: Pre cum is a clear fluid, and ejaculate is milky white. Pre cum is also more watery than ejaculate.
Myth: You can’t get pregnant from pre cum before a man orgasms.
Truth: Any time the penis and vagina contact each other, there’s a chance of pregnancy. This can happen from fluid that contains semen leaking inside the vagina.
Myth: The body produces pre cum for lube, so you can’t get pregnant from it.
Truth: It’s true that pre cum actually has two purposes: to flush out the penis and to get things lubricated down there (though, you still might want to use more lube). But as you’ve learned, pre cum can contain semen, so you don’t want to mess around, possibly ending up with an unplanned pregnancy.
Myth: My friend said that pre cum won’t get me pregnant.
Truth: You now know that it’s possible to get pregnant from pre cum. People like to believe that a man can’t get a woman pregnant from pre cum because they then believe that pulling out before ejaculating is an acceptable method of birth control. That sort of thinking just leads to many unwanted or unplanned pregnancies. Pulling out is not an effective way to prevent a pregnancy.
Myth: Men know when they have pre cum.
Truth: Men don’t feel pre cum as they do ejaculate. The only way they know they have it is to see it. When a guy is inside you, he might have pre cum and doesn’t even know. But when he’s inside you, and ejaculates, he does know.
Myth: Pre cum cannot transmit sexually transmitted diseases.
Truth: Pre cum can transmit STDs. Wearing a condom can protect against the STDs and infections that are transmitted through bodily fluid. However, they may not protect against some STDs.
Myth: Pre cum will get you pregnant
Truth: It’s true that you can become pregnant from pre cum, but you’re more likely to become pregnant when a guy ejaculates deep inside of you because the semen has further to travel. Plus, there’s much more sperm in ejaculate than there is in pre cum. There are about 100 million sperm in ejaculate and only a small fraction in pre cum, if there are any at all.
When a man ejaculates deep inside you, the sperm are in the best position to get you pregnant versus having some fluid leaking slowly into your vagina.
If you are trying to get pregnant, you may be advised that the best positions are ones where the sperm has an easier time swimming upstream, such as Missionary or missionary with your legs raised. Try out the Butterfly sex position to help with fertilization. This post also lists dozens of sex positions on your back that can help you get pregnant.
Conclusion
The next time you ask yourself the question can you get pregnant from pre cum, you’ll now that pre cum can get you pregnant. Many times, pre cum contains sperm. In fact, in one study, researchers found that 41 percent of the men they tested had semen in their pre cum. And about a third of the men had sperm in the pre cum as well.
The important lesson you should take away is that you can get pregnant from pre cum. This is very important to know if you are exploring something like a breeding kink. Having your guy pull out before he ejaculates is not an effective birth control method. It’s true that there is less sperm in pre cum than there is in ejaculate, but when any sperm enters your vagina, you can get pregnant.
Orgasm Every Time. Easily. Here’s How...
I want to tell you about my friend Karen.
Karen came to me one day. She was hysterical.
She told me that her marriage was falling apart because she and her husband didn’t have satisfying sex.
Every time they were intimate, Karen was faking her orgasms. It turns out she couldn’t orgasm during sex.
In fact...
She never had an orgasm in her entire life. Not one!
This left her feeling embarrassed and ashamed.
Even worse...
She stopped wanting sex with her husband, slowly driving him away, and...
Almost destroying her marriage. Thankfully...
It turns out that there is a simple solution for women who struggle to orgasm, whether you are having sex or masturbating.
I shared the process with Karen.
After she followed the simple process, she could barely come to terms with how...
Quickly and dramatically her sex life changed.
We met up a few months later and...
She would not stop talking about it,
“I thought I was one of those women who couldn’t orgasm. I used to think I was ‘broken’ and ‘unfixable.’ This saved my sex life, and that saved my marriage.”
Even if you currently struggle to orgasm during sex or while masturbating, this process will also work for you.
And best of all, you don’t need to do anything weird or uncomfortable to start having the best orgasms and sex of your life.

Hay~ I really need to know something.. Please, I’m scared..
I’ve had sex for the first time today and while my bf was on top of me, with his hands on me and 100% naked, I felt a liquid on my uhm private area and it slid to my butt and blah. He was NOT inside be yet and not with protection when I felt this
Can I know if it was pre cum? He entered me afterwars, could that make pre cum go all the way and get me pregant?
I actually asked my bf, who knows more about this things than me, and he said it was my own lubrification liquid.. I’m still very worried.. Although I believe in him I’m super scared lf getting pregnant and can’t be more cautious about it
Sean Jameson says
It’s hard for me to tell. It is possible to become pregnant from precum (due to the presence of a previous emission already in your man’s urethra).
Pablo says
So like I had sex today, and he had no protection at first and idk if he pre cummed because it was dark and he tried sticking the rip in but I think he got in about some what of a inch and idk if that can get me pregnant.. Please help?
Sean Jameson says
Precum CAN contain sperm which in turn can lead to pregnancy. It’s not very likely, but if you want to be extra safe, then talk to your doctor.
Mar says
Is there a chance of getting pregnant if you give your man a blowjob before entering sexual intercourse without protection? (basically clearing up all pre-cum that starts to leak out)
Sean Jameson says
Sex without a condom always carries a risk of pregnancy
Sharely lemon says
Okay so me and my bf did it for the first time and we didn’t have protection and we did it a couple times but he never finished and he had precum on his boxers before. Can I get pregnant still even though he never finished

What is the chance of getting pregnant from Precum if you were grinding naked and had no penetration at all

I gave my boyfriend a blow job, he did not ejaculate in my mouth but instead stoped it with his finger. then i made him wash his hands before he kissed me and then inserted his finger in me. Then he removed his finger and made me suck them before inserting them again. Are there chances of me getting pregnant from any pre cum in my mouth? There was a gap of 5 mins in between all this when he went to wash his hands and all.
Sean Jameson says
It impossible for me to tell. Talk your doctor about this.
J says
Hi, just a question, my boyfriend and I didn’t have sex but he just fingered me and rubbed his penis on the opening of the vulva, which may have contained some precum. He urinated before we did this and he said that he hasn’t ejaculated for the past 5 days. All of these happened one day before my actual period was supposed to come. The day when my actual period should come had to be yesterday but it did not happen, now I am 1 day late. Should I take ECP to be sure (it hasn’t been 72 hours since the incident)? The dosage for ECP says that I should take 4 pills and then another 4 pills after 12 hours. Also, in the event I get my period in between the window of 12 hours, should I still take the 4 pills after 12 hours of taking the first dose of 4 pills? I’m really worried and thanks.
Sean Jameson says
Talk to your doctor

I gave my bf a blowjob and he ejaculated in my mouth. I spit it out afterwards and gargled with water 2 -3 times. He ate my vagina for awhile and fingered me. We made out while he fingered me then he put his finger in my mouth then after awhile into his. Then he touched the outside of my vagina (mostly my clit). Can I get pregnant from this?
Sean Jameson says
It sounds unlikely, but talk to your doctor if you are unsure.
Loriamae says
Hey so, my bf lawt masturbated was a week ago. And today I sucked him and he said he was almost there but it didnt continue. We stopped for like 2-5 minutes and then we had sex without condom but he said he’s not feeling any excitement at all and didn’t feel anything coming out, would it be possible that there was a pre cum?
Sean Jameson says
Yes, it’s possible that there was pre cum.
Desarae says
Okay so I have a question due to thinking I have a possibility on being pregnant. As to on the 2nd of November my boyfriend and I was rubbing nudely and the tip had slipped in a little bit but not a lot. But I was wet and he is not sure if he had pre cum but i didn’t feel it leak on me so we’re both not sure. But after I was sore and had went to pee and I was bleeding for the rest of the day and ever since I just have brown spotting. So is there anything that I should be concerned about?
Sean Jameson says
My advice is to talk to your doctor about this if you’re concerned.
Jar Jar Binks says
This article is complete baloney. There has never been a single scientific research article that has found live sperm in pre-cum. It is a popular myth, perpetuated by ignorant scare-mongers and the occasional doctor that is more worried about their medical insurance than they are in giving you honest advice. But the truth is that the ‘fact’ of getting pregnant from pre-cum has absolutely no scientific basis whatsoever.
Think I am wrong? Then find such an article…

So on the 4th of February me and my bf had an alcohol fueled night of passion which included me giving him a blow job. After he’d came in my mouth we stopped for a bit to regain energy and then we got a little caught up in what we were doing and he ended up sliding in me without protection. He didn’t ejaculate in me but is it possible I could have gotten pregnant from the residual from the oral?
Gabby says
So my boyfriend only gave me head and fingered me but he didn’t put his penis inside me . But he was masturbating and I think he had a little of precum . I don’t remember if it was dry or not . But with that being on his fingers can I get pregnant ?
Sean Jameson says
Doesn’t sound likely, but it is possible

PLS HELP. There’s this girl that I wanna have sex with and she does too, but i’m scared to get her pregnant because it’s my first time. If I wear a condom and pull out when I cum, will she still pregnant ?
Sean Jameson says
Condoms don’t protect 100% against pregnancy, although when used properly they come pretty close.
Irfan says
This was our 1st time. I inserted my penis into my gf vagina and did not ejaculate but not sure of precum. This happened 1 day before her expected periods. Now she’s missing her periods for about 4-5days. Didn’t take any pills. Is there any chances for pregnancy. Does just penis insertion without ejaculation into a virgin delays periods for 4-5 days?
Sean Jameson says
If she is worried about pregnancy, she should talk to a doctor. PIV sex can result in pregnancy
